Welcome to our website. SC Desert Star Arabians began when Cathy and Shane Caporaso shared a dream. Together, they have been around horses for 80+ years. Cathy was raised on a cattle ranch most of her life and became educated on all aspects of animal husbandry, i.e. raising horses, cattle, sheep. Together, Cathy and Shane began their journey with the Arabian horse by researching what bloodlines they would choose as a foundation for their breeding program. First we began by selecting horses that had great legs, feet, movement, and classic desert Arabian beauty.
In our journey to find the whole horse we found Omar Saalim ... Bred by Liz Dieter of Jeva Farms . Omar has it all in our opinion; great mind , athletic , beautiful and has the structure to carry one many miles . His full sister Bint Bint Jamilla is also showing how strong these lines are .. we are honored to have these gorgeous jewels part of our foundation . MB Jamillsa and Odysseus HF have given us this legacy .Thanks to Liz !!!
Being at an Endurance race some years back we came across Ravenwood Ranch Arabians . These horses have what it takes to go the distance . Great minds ,structure , beautiful to look at and kind hearts !!! So it was off to Ravenwood were we found Salvation , Ever Sacred and Exotic Love . Al and Jane Bohn have bred some of the finest Arabians in the world ,we are very honored to have this blood in our program !!
As time went by we continued to research pedigree and look for that next special stallion !! We had been watching for sometime a bay colt .. his name "Shah Nile Jamilll ", he's bred by Steve and Cyglenda Miller of Paradise Egyptian Stud . What a gorgeous boy and what great structure !! Plus he has a incrediable pedigree !! We feel very proud to have this stud in our family. He will make a wonderful cross on our mares . Thank You to the Millers !!!
We have promised to dedicate the rest of our time on this earth to breeding the true Desert Arabian. We believe in the whole horse helping to create great minds ,structure ,and beauty , arabian horses that are built to do it all not just one thing !! We have spent much time reading ,traveling ,educating ,talking with true horseman and being open to new ideas . The way to being successful at this we believe is to have the ability to reach out to others ,help each other and always keep the wellfair of the horse first . Remember to educate .. always be honest in your choices as it effects these gorgeous creatures the Arabian , we are the guardians and should reflect that !! Keeping our precious jewels safe !! Being Responsiable for each life we help create.
